Happy Valentine’s Day, friends! What are you up to today? Curtis and I are grabbing dinner out tonight which I’m very excited about! I know it’s a fun day when you’re with someone and a tough day when you’re not, but know that you can have all kinds of Valentines - friends, family, pets haha I know that sounds silly, but don’t take the holiday too seriously <3 I’ve never thought of today as JUST a romantic holiday, more about love in general :)
Well cheers to the weekend and *finally* getting some sunny days! xo

// I have a feeling my work bag (which I’ve used everyday for 5 years) is on it’s way out :( but I’ve been spotting some cute replacement options! I’m looking for something big and open so I can toss my lunch box in there along with a water bottle, book, random hats and mittens ;) Loving this one, this one, and this one.

Isn’t this bathroom so fun? ha! I think I linked to the house tour a few Fridays ago, but I still love looking at those illustrations. I started following the artist (Lorien Stern) and all of her work brings me such joy! It has sparked some inspiration which is just what I need right now :) Which is great timing because I’ll be in NYC this weekend visiting my college bestie and I have a feeling that is going to be a fun and inspiring trip as well! Let’s get inspired, people! Have a great weekend xo
// Did you guys read Normal People? I loved it! I saw that they’re making it into a BBC series…I’m not sure how I feel about that! There’s something so beautiful about a book that’s just kind of about people. Nothing big, or drastic happens, you just get tangled into their world. And idk if that translates as well into a show. But, who knows, maybe I’m wrong! :)

// Love the mix of whites and bright colors in this house tour!
// This is something I’m on the edge of feeling - Apparently I’m Too Fat to Ski - I’ve had a hard time finding ski pants that fit my legs and butt, and I’m not even considered plus sized (I’m a 12/31 in women’s jeans as a reference). I have had friends who have felt this too. I did feel a little optimistic reading the comments where people posted about brands that are making larger sizes, but this needs to be taken seriously!
// Your Favorite 1970s Cult Plant Is Back and More Popular Than Ever - My parents have a ficus (similar to the first photo) in their house and I loved it when I was a kid but thought it was a little too “mom” as I got into my teens/early twenties. Now I’m coming back around! I think a ficus would look pretty cute in our house :)

Hi! Happy last Friday of the month. It’s *finally* here haha. As you may have noticed, there are so many “it feels like January 54th” type of memes going around and I definitely have been feeling that. I’m excited for a new month, but I feel like the weekends are already filling up! We have a pretty chill weekend ahead and I am here for it. We’re not big football people, so we’ll make some Super Bowl snacks and drink some beer, but have no stake in who wins haha *Edit - after I wrote that statement I looked up who was even in the Super Bowl and I’m torn on who to root for! I have a lot of family in Kansas, so even though the Chiefs are a Missouri team, I should probably support my mid west fam. BUT I also have a big family branch in the San Fran area…wow, who knew I would be in such a dilemma 😂. ANYWAY, have a great weekend, friends xo

// Since one of my favorite bloggers brought up emotional labor a few years ago, it has been on my mind. She mentioned she had been reading a book that changed her life and I was so curious! She just recently wrote about her experience reading it, and then interviewed the author and now I’m even more intrigued! But one of the comments really caught my attention: “Wow just wow. Fair doesn’t mean 50/50 is such a revelation. It should be obvious, but it’s not”. I would recommend giving this review a read and thinking about how your emotional labor is divided in your household.

Do you guys watch Hot Ones? We’re big fans and are so our friends Emily and Joe who just bought their own place outside of Boston! So we’re finally going to check out their new spot and to spice (ha) up the weekend, we’re going to do our own Hot Ones challenge! Joe is a videographer, so we’re going all out - full on filming! We’re all into hot sauce, but this is going to be interesting ha. What are you up to this weekend?

Deep into January and online shopping…
*ps - Valentine’s Day is coming up!
Happy Friday, friends! Honestly, it’s been a really chill week! We’ve started on our mission to watch as many Oscar nominated movies as possible and watched The Lighthouse this week. Wow! We’ve also already seen: Once Upon A Time…In Hollywood, Joker, Little Women, End Game, and Star Wars. Speaking of Star Wars - my uncle Pat (Tubach) was nominated for his 3rd (or 4th?) Oscar for Visual Effects! Fingers crossed this is the year!!
We’re also excited to head to the Poconos for a night to visit a friend on their birthday on Sat :) It’s supposed to snow a bit, but we love the snow :)
What are your weekend plans? xo

I have a soccer game tonight, a massage tomorrow morning, we are celebrating my Opa’s 90th birthday on Saturday and we are tackling a few house projects we are excited about. What are you up to? xo

Happy New Year, friends! We had a lovely and chill NYE with some friends - we had homemade lasagna, negronis and lots of laughs. With the new year upon us, I do have a few goals - 1. share more of my work! I actually just made an instagram to showcase my design and I’m really excited to continue adding to it (@christayung_design) 2. read even more this year! I got back into reading in a big way this year with 22 books (from my previous year record of 13), but I’m not finished yet! Onwards and upwards! 3. like everyone else, I’d love to loose a few lbs, but I’m going to focus more on better eating habits than rushing into a whole new routine. I’m going to really commit to salads for lunch. I’m not horrible at lunches, but I can be a little lazy and buy lunch out more than I’d like, so and I’m planning on really going for homemade this year! What are your goals? No improvement is too small! xo

Well it’s the last few days of December! It’s been a quiet week aside from the holiday and I’m looking forward to having a chill weekend. Curtis and I are still not feeling 100% - I’ve basically been sick for the entire month :( Anyway, I hope your holidays were wonderful and the beginning of 2020 is everything you hope it will be! See you on the flip side xo

Do you have some Christmas money to spend? Thinking about some of these cute things for myself and friends…
I’m back! What an amazing trip we had :) You can check out some of my photos here on my instagram. Now we’re in the craziness of the holidays! We’re decorating cookies and celebrating birthdays (my brother, his girlfriend and myself all with Dec birthdays!) tonight at my Oma and Opa’s house, and tomorrow we’re hosting our 8th annual Christmas party with all of our friends - can’t wait :)
See you after the holiday! xo

Hello, hello! I’m in here briefly to say that I’m outta here for a week :) We’re heading to AZ tomorrow! *pray for our flight tomorrow morning with this dusting of snow in the forecast tonight* But I’m trying to stay positive and am so, so, so ready for some downtime with my boo! Turning 30 in the desert sunshine is just what I need. See you on the 20th. xo

What a week it’s been! I know it feels like I always say that, but woah! With back to back snow days right after Thanksgiving, an ear infection, my FIL winning Server of the Year at the CT Restaurant Asso. Awards and getting a new phone - just woah haha. Mostly exciting stuff though, and I’m looking forward to a chill weekend and getting prepped for Arizona on Wednesday! Have a great weekend xo

I seriously can’t believe it’s Friday again and next week is Thanksgiving! We had a bit of an issue in Philly with Curtis’s back, which was a bummer, but he’s on the mend! And I officially can drive standard…I had to drive us back to CT and I am now a pro hah. We have a fun weekend ahead celebrating my FIL’s bday, meeting up with some friends and doing some house stuff! Have a great weekend xo

The start of the holiday season, eek! I have to start buying some gifts. Maybe some of these will spark some ideas! These pinky, warm tones and adorable home items make me excited to spend time inside :)
It is one of those T*Fucking*GIF weeks! From work drama, to another freaking stone falling out of my wedding band, to leaving my purse at home on an important day, to much, much more… it’s been a week, ha. I always joke around with friends when they talk about how “mercury is in retrograde” but I have never felt it like this before. I hear you loud and clear, universe! I’m excited for a totally chill (please be chill!) weekend of house projects, baking and seeing some friends perform at one of our favorite breweries. What are you up to? xo
