Happy Friday! Week 2 of “regular” life under our belts (me back at work & Gene at daycare), but hoping this weekend shakes out better than the last (Curtis got food poisoning). It feels like a reset at least! And the weather is going to be beautiful.
We celebrated our 4th wedding anniversary with an amazing meal at Millwright’s in Simsbury. It was the first physical restaurant we’ve been to since the pandemic started, and we felt SO safe. We were able to make an outdoor reservation and were sat overlooking the beautiful waterfall in the river. Everything was incredible, but one of the desserts blew us away. It was a roasted almond semifreddo with a chocolate macaron base, topped with a coconut tuile and cherries. UNREAL.
How was your week? What are you up to this weekend? xo
// I’ve always loved cyanotypes and I recently came across an amazing artist doing cyanotype designs on clothing! I think I might have to give this a try sometime! I found a tutorial here.
// Fun fact about me, I love cultural/working songs like shanties, and recently learned about “Waulking Songs” which are Scottish work songs traditional sung in Gaelic by women waulking (or softening) fabrics. How cool is this song?! And funnily enough, I found this song back in May, and starting watching Outlander during my maternity leave and there is a scene where working women sing a waulking song while they work.
// I have been in the mood to bake something, and the cherry ricotta cake (above) looks amazing!
// Speaking of songs - these 2 are on repeat for me! gracias a la vida from Kacey Musgraves & The End. from November Ultra
// I am very intrigued by this – Don’t Worry Darling trailer
// Are tissue box covers unnecessary? Yes. But are they *super* cute?! Thinking of snagging this one…
