Wowowowow we made it to a Biden/Harris presidency!! What a relief!

And in all of the craziness, I’m not sure I announced on here that I’m pregnant :) I’m almost 25 weeks and things are good with baby boy! It has been an interesting experience being pregnant during a pandemic, but for the most part it’s been great to be at home. So I’ll try to keep my links not too baby specific, but damn baby clothes are cute :)

Last week felt a little overwhelming with what happened at the Capitol, hence my tardy post! But I did want to check in here with you all because we haven’t chatted since last year ;)!

Here’s what I had prepared for Friday’s post (which I’m going to include because I think it still applies)…

What.A.Week. I’m not exactly sure what to say other than that I’m deeply horrified, saddened and angry at what happened, and I’m not entirely surprised after Trump’s escalation over the years. The fact that people kept (and keep!) blindly following him knowing that he has such hateful and crazed things to say that egg on these domestic terrorists is awful. I hope everyone involved is prosecuted to the fullest extend, but I’m not holding my breath. As usual, I thoroughly enjoy reading reader comments on Cup of Jo’s website, and her post from yesterday was no exception - Let’s Talk About What Happened Yesterday.

I thought I was back on track, but I guess that didn’t happen - ha! So happy Monday :) We had a busy weekend, or as busy of a weekend as you can have during quarantine! We took a nice distanced hike with my parents for my dad’s birthday on Saturday and then did a zoom birthday call for my grandpa’s birthday on Sunday! We all made our own cake and blew out candles to celebrate, it was really nice :) Highly recommend adding a little something extra like that to make the person feel special. Anywho - I can’t believe it’s Thanksgiving next, crazy. We’re going into extra quarantine mode to spend the holiday with my in-laws. We all work from home so it will be easy to stay home and stay safe for our meal. xo

Happy Friday :) We took a wonderful midweek break on Wednesday to celebrate our 3rd wedding anniversary and went up to MASSMoca. It was my first time seeing James Turrell and it was an amazing experience! I hope to see more of his stuff in the future. This week we also started tackling a kitchen refresh - painting the cabinets (still white), new hardware (these pulls and these hinges), finally putting up our new light, new hood and painting one wall with chalkboard paint. We’re so excited! It’s going to be a bit of work, but so worth it! xo

Welp, this past week didn’t go as planned! We were without power from Tuesday afternoon until around 11:45 on Friday night (hence no Friday post!) from Hurricane Isaias but we’re back! We are incredibly lucky to have a gas stove and water heater, but damn it was hot without AC ha. It was just such an odd thing to add to the mix with covid…normally we’d go to a friends house who had power, or go see a movie, but that’s not really doable these days. Counting down the days until there’s a vaccine!!

But looking forward to a (hopefully) more relaxed week this week. And as always, #blacklivesstillmatter.

As the old saying goes…how the eff is it already August tomorrow?! Maybe something about being home for 4.5 months will do it! Anyway, how’s your week been? I finished the book I was reading (The Vanishing Half by Brit Bennett) and it was amazing, highly recommend! // Love this! An Ode to the Dated Kitchen - we have a late 1940s kitchen that is in great shape. We do want to update a few things - give it a fresh coat of paint, update the hardware (we purchased these pulls) and backsplash. Down the road we’d be interested in getting a new countertop and possibly doing the floors (which are not original), but why rip out the nice, wood cabinets!
