UConn Magazine
In 2015, I was tasked in redesigning UConn Magazine, the University of Connecticut's alumni magazine, from scratch. I was hired, along with a new editor, Lisa Stiepock, to bring this new UConn Magazine to life. We increased frequency from 2 times per year to 3 – Spring, Summer & Fall, and we upped the page count from 32 pages to 52, and then up again to 54 pages. The magazine is split into 3 sections, the front of book section, UConn Now, which showcases student profiles, on and off campus news and exciting UConn notes. Following UConn Now are the features. Each issue has between 5-6 features, highlighting the incredible professors, research and history that the University of Connecticut has to offer. Lastly, the magazine closes out with UConn Nation, the alumni focused back of book which includes class notes, alumni profiles, traditions and much more.
As Art Director, I plan out and attended photoshoots with our in-house photographer, research and communicate with illustrators, and design the entire magazine.
Along with the updated print design, UConn Magazine got a new website to accompany the new look, which you can see here. Both UConn Magazine and the UConn Magazine website received Silver Awards at the 2016 Connecticut Art Directors Club Annual Awards Show.
