As the old saying goes…how the eff is it already August tomorrow?! Maybe something about being home for 4.5 months will do it! Anyway, how’s your week been? I finished the book I was reading (The Vanishing Half by Brit Bennett) and it was amazing, highly recommend! We’ve been living a wonderfully slow life this past week up in NH (more pics and stories here), and will miss it when we head back tomorrow, but we are VERY excited to sleep in our own bed :) Have a lovely weekend friend, and as always #blacklivesstillmatter.
// Love this! An Ode to the Dated Kitchen - we have a late 1940s kitchen that is in great shape. We do want to update a few things - give it a fresh coat of paint, update the hardware (we purchased these pulls) and backsplash. Down the road we’d be interested in getting a new countertop and possibly doing the floors (which are not original), but why rip out the nice, wood cabinets! Obviously getting *exactly* what you want would be nice, but working with what you have is nice (and sustainable!) too :)
// Have you seen the new Nike ad? Amazing
// Great piece - 'Rednecks For Black Lives' Urges Southerners To Fight For Racial Justice. “You can sit back and say, you know, ‘Hey, this ain't my fight.’ And a lot of us did for a long time,” he says. “But I want to be one of those out there pulling people into it because it is their fight. It always has been our fight. South, North, white, Black, Brown, Latinos — everyone needs to get in this.”
// YUM (and beautiful!) I Already Know What I’m Getting Everyone for the Holidays This Year
// Who knew I would be so into beach towels this year…but I have my eye on 3! This one from Brooklinen (in Sunrise or Cabana), this one from Pendelton (in Slate), or this one from Lena Corwin ( Daisy Yin Yang in french blue)
